What is resilience?
Resilience is the “bounce back” mindset. It is the ability for an individual or tissue to overcome or adapt from a difficult situation. Resilience is the product of capacity and tissue tolerance and the greater our bodies resilience the greater our ability to overcome and adapt to hardship.
At Agility Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology Penrith, resilience during a patient's rehabilitation journey is improved through progressive overload, directional preferenced movements and high load exercise to help stimulate cellular healing. Our physiotherapists and exercise physiologists avoid interventions like stretching, foam rolling & spiky balls as these have no effect on tissue tolerance, capacity or resilience.
